Workday REST
Look up the Workday REST connector: its actions and events in alphabetical order, and the sign-in methods of a Workday REST connection.
The Workday REST connector lets a workflow search workers, run Workday Query Language (WQL) queries, and handle inbox tasks and time-off requests. In the Add node panel, it's in the Connector category, under Workday REST. How connector nodes work describes how a connector node is set up.
This page lists what the connector can do in Maestro Automate. Select an action or event to see how to configure it.
Actions
Each action is a node that does one thing in Workday REST.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Approve or Reject Inbox Task | Approve or reject an inbox task in Workday. |
| Create Personal Time-off Request | Creates time-off request on behalf of the logged-in user. |
| Execute WQL Query | Retrieve records using Workday query language. |
| Get Instance Details | Retrieve tenant name from Workday. |
| Get Record | Retrieve a specific record from Workday REST. |
| Insert Record | Insert a new record into Workday REST. |
| List All Records | Retrieve and list all records from Workday REST. |
| List All Tasks in Your Inbox | Lists all inbox tasks for current logged in user. |
| Replace Record | Replace a specific record in Workday REST. |
| Search Workers by Name or ID | Searches for workers by their names or IDs. |
Events
Each event can start a workflow, as a Connector trigger, or pause a run until it happens, as a Connector event. In the connector's list, events have the WAIT tag.
| Event | What it does |
|---|---|
| Worker Created | Triggers when a new worker is created. |
| Worker Terminated | Triggers when a worker is terminated. |
Connection
A Workday REST node signs in through a connection. Create a connection describes how to create one from the node. On the Connect to page, you sign in with this method:
| Sign-in method | What you need |
|---|---|
| OAuth 2.0 | REST API Endpoint; Authorization URL; Token URL; Client ID; Client secret; Your Workday username and password. |
Workday REST authentication in the Integration Service guide describes the full connection setup, including prerequisites and advanced settings.
