Google Sheets
Look up the Google Sheets connector: its actions and events in alphabetical order, and the sign-in methods of a Google Sheets connection.
The Google Sheets connector lets a workflow read, write, and format spreadsheets in Google Sheets. In the Add node panel, it's in the Connector category, under Google Sheets. How connector nodes work describes how a connector node is set up.
This page lists what the connector can do in Maestro Automate. Select an event to see its details in the Integration Service guide.
Actions
Each action is a node that does one thing in Google Sheets.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Add Sheet | Create a new sheet in a Google spreadsheet. |
| Create Spreadsheet | Create a new Google spreadsheet in selected folder. |
| Delete Column | Delete a column from a specified position in Google spreadsheet. |
| Delete Range | Delete cells in a specific range from Google spreadsheet. |
| Delete Rows | Delete row(s) from a specified range in Google spreadsheet. |
| Delete Sheet | Delete a sheet from selected Google spreadsheet. |
| Read Cell | Retrieve data present in a specific cell of a Google spreadsheet. |
| Read Range | Retrieve data in specified range of a Google spreadsheet. |
| Rename Sheet | Rename the specified sheet from the specified spreadsheet. |
| Write Cell | Write data into a cell in selected Google Spreadsheet. |
| Write Column | Write data into a column in selected Google Spreadsheet. |
| Write Range | Write data to specified range of selected Google Spreadsheet. |
| Write Row | Write a row of data into selected Google Spreadsheet. |
The panel also lists 5 actions marked (deprecated), which aren't listed here. Use the actions above instead.
Events
Each event can start a workflow, as a Connector trigger, or pause a run until it happens, as a Connector event. In the connector's list, events have the WAIT tag.
| Event | What it does |
|---|---|
| Cell in Sheet Updated | Starts the automation when a cell within a Sheet is updated. |
| Row Added to the Bottom of a Sheet | Starts the automation when a new row is added to the bottom of a Sheet (tab). |
| Sheet Created | Starts the automation when a new Sheet within a Spreadsheet is created. |
| When a new spreadsheet is created | Triggers when a new spreadsheet is created in the drive. |
| When a spreadsheet is moved to trash | Triggers when an existing spreadsheet is moved to trash from the drive. |
| When a spreadsheet is updated | Triggers when an existing spreadsheet is updated in the drive. |
Connection
A Google Sheets node signs in through a connection. Create a connection describes how to create one from the node. On the Connect to page, choose one of these sign-in methods:
| Sign-in method | What you need |
|---|---|
| OAuth 2.0 Authorization code | The email address and password of your Google account. |
| Bring your own OAuth 2.0 app | The client ID, client secret, and scopes of an app that you create in Google Cloud. |
| Service account | The key and email address of a Google service account. |
Google Sheets authentication in the Integration Service guide describes the full connection setup, including prerequisites and advanced settings.
