Slack
Look up the Slack connector: its actions and events in alphabetical order, and the sign-in methods of a Slack connection.
The Slack connector lets a workflow send messages, manage channels, and work with users in Slack. In the Add node panel, it's in the Connector category, under Slack. How connector nodes work describes how a connector node is set up.
This page lists what the connector can do in Maestro Automate. Select an action or event to see how to configure it.
Actions
Each action is a node that does one thing in Slack.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Add Users to User Group | Add a list of users to a user group in a connected Slack workspace. |
| Archive Channel | Archive an existing Slack channel for all users. |
| Create Channel | Create a public or private channel in Slack. |

Events
Each event can start a workflow, as a Connector trigger, or pause a run until it happens, as a Connector event. In the connector's list, events have the WAIT tag.
| Event | What it does |
|---|---|
| Button Clicked | Triggers actions when an interactive button is clicked in Slack. |
| Channel Created in Slack | Triggers instantly when a new channel is created in Slack. |
| Member Joined a Slack Channel | Triggers instantly when a member joined a Slack channel. |

Connection
A Slack node signs in through a connection. Create a connection describes how to create one from the node. On the Connect to page, choose one of these sign-in methods:
| Sign-in method | What you need |
|---|---|
| OAuth 2.0 Authorization code | Your Slack sign-in, and the user and bot scopes to grant. |
| Bring your own OAuth 2.0 app | The client ID and client secret of an app that you create in Slack, and the user and bot scopes. |
| API Key | A Slack access token, such as a bot token or a user token. |
You must be a member or a guest of the Slack workspace.
Slack authentication in the Integration Service guide describes the full connection setup, including prerequisites and advanced settings.
