Workday
Look up the Workday connector: its actions and events in alphabetical order, and the sign-in methods of a Workday connection.
The Workday connector lets a workflow create positions and pre-hires, and hire employees. In the Add node panel, it's in the Connector category, under Workday. How connector nodes work describes how a connector node is set up.
This page lists what the connector can do in Maestro Automate. Select an action or event to see how to configure it.
Actions
Each action is a node that does one thing in Workday.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Create Position | Asynchronously create an open position in Workday and obtain the Workday ID (WID) of the position event. |
| Create Pre-Hire | Create a pre-hire for an open position in Workday, with an option to upload a resume. |
| Get Pre-Hire by Email | Retrieve pre-hire information by email in Workday. |
| Get Record | Retrieve a record in Workday. |
| Hire Employee | Asynchronously hire an employee in Workday and obtain the WID of the employee event. |
| Insert Record | Insert a new record in Workday. |
| List All Open Positions | Retrieve all open positions from Workday. |
| List Records | List records in Workday. |
Events
Each event can start a workflow, as a Connector trigger, or pause a run until it happens, as a Connector event. In the connector's list, events have the WAIT tag.
| Event | What it does |
|---|---|
| Employee Created | Triggers automation when a new employee is created in Workday. |
| Employee Updated | Triggers for updates to existing workers in Workday. |
| Organization Created or Updated | Triggers for when a new organization is created or updated in Workday. |
| Position Closed | Triggers when an existing position is closed in Workday. |
| Position Opened | Triggers automation when a new position is opened in Workday. |
| Purchase Items Created or Updated | Triggers for when new purchase items are created or updated in Workday. |
| Supplier Created or Updated | Triggers for when a new supplier is created or updated in Workday. |
| Worker Created | Triggers when a new worker is created in Workday. |
| Worker Updated | Triggers when an existing worker is updated in Workday. |
Connection
A Workday node signs in through a connection. Create a connection describes how to create one from the node. On the Connect to page, choose one of these sign-in methods:
| Sign-in method | What you need |
|---|---|
| Username and password | The Web Services Description Language (WSDL) URL of your tenant, the tenant name, and the username and password of an integration system user. |
In Workday, an administrator first creates the integration system user and grants it the domain security permissions it needs.
Workday authentication in the Integration Service guide describes the full connection setup, including prerequisites and advanced settings.
