uip insights dashboards
Syntax and options for `uip insights dashboards`, which reads, creates, updates, deletes, and copies the standalone Insights dashboards of Maestro processes.
uip insights dashboards manages the standalone Insights monitoring dashboards of Maestro processes. Each Maestro process has one process dashboard slot and one case-management dashboard slot. A slot either holds a saved dashboard, with a numeric ID, or serves a built-in template, with a template-keyed UiPath- ID.
Address a dashboard in one of two ways:
- By process:
--process-key <guid>targets the process's dashboard slot. Add--caseto target the case-management slot instead. The CLI composes the slot ID from the process key. - By dashboard ID: pass the ID as the
[dashboard-id]argument.--source-typeapplies only to this form and defaults toAO.updateanddeleteaccept only the numeric ID of a saved dashboard.
The ID argument and --process-key are mutually exclusive.

These commands honor the global options and the standard exit codes. For a dashboard's global filters, refer to uip insights dashboard-filters.
Definition files
create and update read a dashboard definition from --file. get --output-file and copy --output-file write one. A definition file holds the dashboard definition object with the backend's camelCase keys and no CLI envelope. Its layout.type must be custom, and its chart types must be among line, multi_line, bar, table, distribution, pie, kpi, and placeholder. The file that get --output-file writes is a valid starting point.
uip insights dashboards get
Get one dashboard: by process key, the process's monitoring dashboard, saved or template; or by dashboard ID. Standard output carries a summary of the definition. Pass --output-file to write the full definition to a file.
Options
| Flag | Description |
|---|---|
[dashboard-id] | Numeric dashboard ID or template-keyed UiPath- ID. Mutually exclusive with --process-key. |
--process-key <guid> | Maestro process key. |
--case | With --process-key, target the case-management slot. |
--source-type <type> | Source type of a dashboard ID. Default AO. Only with [dashboard-id]. |
--localization <locale> | Locale for template text, for example en-US. |
--output-file <path> | Write the full definition, in camelCase and with no CLI envelope, to this file. |
Example
uip insights dashboards get --process-key a1b2c3d4-0000-0000-0000-000000000001 --output-file ./dashboard.json
uip insights dashboards get --process-key a1b2c3d4-0000-0000-0000-000000000001 --output-file ./dashboard.json
Data shape (--output json)
The command returns Code: "InsightsDashboardGet" and a summary with these fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
Id | Dashboard ID. |
Saved | true for a saved dashboard with a numeric ID, false for a template. |
SlotId, ProcessKey | Present when the dashboard was addressed by process key. |
Name, DataModel, Version, IsVisible, IsAllowedToEdit | Definition properties. |
TableCount, MetricCount, TabCount, ChartCount | Counts of the definition's tables, metrics, tabs, and charts. |
LayoutType | The definition's layout type. |
GlobalFilters | Number of global filters. |
DefinitionBytes | Size of the definition in bytes, measured on the written file when --output-file is passed. |
OutputFile | Present when --output-file is passed. |
uip insights dashboards create
Create a Maestro process's monitoring dashboard from a definition file. The slot must be free.
Options
| Flag | Description |
|---|---|
--process-key <guid> | Maestro process key. |
--case | Target the case-management slot. |
--file <path> | Dashboard definition JSON. Required. Refer to Definition files. |
Example
uip insights dashboards create --process-key a1b2c3d4-0000-0000-0000-000000000001 --file ./dashboard.json
uip insights dashboards create --process-key a1b2c3d4-0000-0000-0000-000000000001 --file ./dashboard.json
Data shape (--output json)
The command returns Code: "InsightsDashboardCreate" and these fields: DashboardId (the ID get accepts), ProcessKey, SlotId, Name, Version, MetricCount, ChartCount, FilterValuesDefaulted, CreateState, VerificationState, and SlotState. The command reads the dashboard back after the create, and VerificationState is ReadBackSucceeded on success.
uip insights dashboards update
Replace a saved dashboard's whole definition from a file. Members that the file omits are deleted.
--expected-version is a client-side staleness check: the CLI stops the update when the stored dashboard's version differs from the one you pass. The backend accepts no version precondition, so the check is best-effort. The backend keeps no history; pass --backup-file to keep a copy of the definition as it was before the update.
Options
| Flag | Description |
|---|---|
[dashboard-id] | Numeric ID of the saved dashboard. Mutually exclusive with --process-key. |
--process-key <guid> | Maestro process key. |
--case | With --process-key, target the case-management slot. |
--source-type <type> | Source type of a dashboard ID. Default AO. Only with [dashboard-id]. |
--file <path> | Replacement definition JSON. Required. Refer to Definition files. |
--expected-version <number> | Version the definition was read at, as get reports it. Required. |
--backup-file <path> | Write the definition as it stands before the update to this file. |
Example
uip insights dashboards update --process-key a1b2c3d4-0000-0000-0000-000000000001 \
--file ./dashboard.json --expected-version 3 --backup-file ./dashboard.backup.json
uip insights dashboards update --process-key a1b2c3d4-0000-0000-0000-000000000001 \
--file ./dashboard.json --expected-version 3 --backup-file ./dashboard.backup.json
Data shape (--output json)
The command returns Code: "InsightsDashboardUpdate" and these fields: DashboardId, ProcessKey and SlotId (when addressed by process key), Name, SourceType, PreviousVersion, Version, VersionSource, MetricCount, ChartCount, GlobalFilterCount, FilterValuesDefaulted, UpdateState, VerificationState, and BackupFile (when --backup-file is passed).
uip insights dashboards delete
Delete a saved dashboard and every alert definition the backend has linked to it. The backend keeps no copy. Pass --backup-file to keep the definition; dashboards create --file can recreate it as a new dashboard.
Options
| Flag | Description |
|---|---|
[dashboard-id] | Numeric ID of the saved dashboard. Must not start with a zero. Mutually exclusive with --process-key. |
--process-key <guid> | Maestro process key. |
--case | With --process-key, target the case-management slot. |
--source-type <type> | Source type of a dashboard ID. Default AO. Only with [dashboard-id]. |
-y, --yes | Confirm this irreversible operation. Required; the CLI never prompts. |
--backup-file <path> | Write the definition as it stands before the delete to this file. |
Example
uip insights dashboards delete 644 --yes --backup-file ./dashboard-644.json
uip insights dashboards delete 644 --yes --backup-file ./dashboard-644.json
Data shape (--output json)
The command returns Code: "InsightsDashboardDelete" and these fields: DashboardId, ProcessKey and SlotId (when addressed by process key), Name, SourceType, DeleteState, VerificationState, SlotState (when available), LinkedAlertsDeleted (the number of linked alert definitions deleted), LinkedAlerts, and BackupFile (when --backup-file is passed).
uip insights dashboards copy
Give one Maestro process the dashboard another process has: the source's saved dashboard, or the template its free slot serves. The destination slot must be free. --case applies to both processes. The two process keys must differ.
Options
| Flag | Description |
|---|---|
--from-process-key <guid> | Maestro process key of the process whose dashboard is copied. |
--to-process-key <guid> | Maestro process key of the process that receives the copy. |
--case | Copy between the case-management slots of both processes. |
--output-file <path> | Write the definition as sent, in camelCase and with no CLI envelope, to this file before the create. |
Example
uip insights dashboards copy --from-process-key a1b2c3d4-0000-0000-0000-000000000001 \
--to-process-key a1b2c3d4-0000-0000-0000-000000000002
uip insights dashboards copy --from-process-key a1b2c3d4-0000-0000-0000-000000000001 \
